Track the instant location of your vehicle, anywhere in the U.S.
GPS tracking system 8100 is a real-time GPS tracking system that incorporates the latest in GPS tracking and wireless technology to accurately determine the exact location of a vehicle. The GPS
tracking system 8100 can be used as a portable device operating on an internal lithium battery pack or it can be connected directly to the vehicle's 12 volt power supply.
The LandAirSea 8100 hardware and software was designed to be used for
both single unit portable applications or large fleet management installations.
- Size: 3" x 4.25" x 2"
- 4400 mAh battery pack
- High strength magnet mounts allow for under the vehicle installation
- Portable size and super powerful GPS receiver designed for extremely flexible location placement on the vehicle.
- Completely self contained device.
- NO external antennas or external power cables are needed.
- Internal Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery pack – Used as a portable unit or can charge off of the vehicle’s 12V system. If the vehicle loses power, the tracking unit will still function.
- Three high performance magnets for mounting if desired.
- Battery status monitoring online – (only needed if being used as a portable unit)
- LED status lights for battery, GPS, and communication link
The 8100 can be set to update it's location from every second or up to 30 minutes and anywhere in between.
Battery life depends on how much the vehicle is in motion and how often you want the unit to update the location. On a full battery charge, the unit should last at least one week with average driving
with the unit set to give you 5 minute updates. With one second updates, expect about 4 to 5 days of tracking before you need to charge the battery.
L.A.S. 8100 Features

- Simultaneous viewing of multiple vehicles with one second update rates.
- Google Earth® mapping engine.
- Vehicle name identifier for quick ID.
- Geo-fencing capability with e-mail and/or text message notification of vehicle movement inside or outside a zone.
- Online driving and stops text reports
- The 8100 is able to transmit as fast as once every second literally allowing the user to watch the vehicle move across the map as it moves.

GPS Tracking - L.A.S. 8100 FAQ
Is the 8100 waterproof?
Although the 8100 comes with three high performance magnets for mounting and o-rings around the major openings, we do not consider the 8100 waterproof. It will effectively receive GPS signals under the vehicle
but it is the customer’s responsibility to protect the unit from road hazards including inclement weather condition. The 8100 warranty does not cover water damage or lost units.
How long does the Lithium-Ion battery last?
Since the 8100 is motion activated, battery life will depend upon the number of hours the vehicle is in motion per day and the frequency of the transmission updates. Please check the specifications page for more details.
Will changing the updating frequency affect the battery life?
Yes. The more frequent the 8100 updates, the more resources are needed to capture and transmit the information.
Can the 8100 be hard-wired to the vehicle?
Yes. The 8100 comes with an external power port and cable to connect to an always-on hot lead on your vehicle.
Will the internal battery take over if the 8100 is hard-wired and the vehicle loses power?
Yes. The internal battery will charge from the vehicle’s charging system and will assume full 8100 system operation if the 12V power is lost.
How long does it take to install?
If used as a portable system, it will only take seconds as the 8100 is completely portable. If you want to hard-wire the 8100 to your vehicle, the most common location is underneath the dash. This will provide
for the 12V connectivity and provide a secure location. If you wish to install the 8100 in this location, you may want to consider taking the unit to a qualified audio alarm installer or mechanic. Installing
the 8100 inside the engine compartment is not recommended as the device will be surrounded by metal and impedes the GPS reception.
Where can I place the 8100 unit?
The 8100 incorporates the same sensitivity as our Land Air Sea Tracking Key. Therefore, it can easily be hidden in most areas within the vehicle or even underneath the vehicle against the steel frame (please see the
following statement regarding waterproofing).
How strong are the magnetic mounts?
Land Air Sea utilizes high performance magnets providing effective mounting of the device. This are the same magnets utilized in the Tracking Key series. Since the 8100 is larger than the Tracking Key, we have
mounted three magnets to the bottom of the case.
What are the different plans of service?
There are three different monthly plans to choose from. Plan A is $14.95, Plan B $29.95, and the unlimited data plan (Plan C) is $59.95. These plans are per unit purchased. There is also a one-time activation
fee of $ 19.95 and the first month of service is charged in advance.
How do I determine which plan is best for me?
Data plans require a 12-month agreement utilizing Verizon Wireless® data services. After the first 12 months, plans become month to month.
After purchasing an 8100, you will contact LandAirSea to set up which plan you want to use:
Plan 1 - $ 14.95 ( 1000 updates )
Plan 2 - $ 29.95 ( 3000 updates )
Plan 3 - $ 59.95 (unlimited service)
Is there a contract for the monitoring service?
Yes. Since the 8100 transmits the GPS data over the Verizon Wireless® network, a data plan is required for a period of twelve (12) months. Once the initial contract is complete, the service will become month
to month.
What are the terms and conditions of the monthly service?
The terms and conditions of the monthly service coincide with the Verizon Wireless® data plan service. Since the 8100 is not a cell phone, some of the conditions do not apply.
Can I still get second by second data with a lower cost data plan?
Yes. One of the key benefits of the Land Air Sea 8100 is the ability to change the rate of tracking on the software. Most systems require manual configuration. However, each time the 8100 transmits data,
it is utilizing bandwidth. You will have to use this feature sparingly if you have a $ 14.95 or $ 29.95 plan.
How do I know if I am staying within my data plan?
The 8100 software contains filters that will identify usage. If you wish to upgrade your data plan during the first year contract, you can do so by contacting us.
What is the warranty for the 8100?
The 8100 will come with a one year manufacturer’s warranty.
What kind of reports will I get?
You will be able to create driving reports based upon the data transmitted from the 8100 as well as stop reports. Stops are identified as duration of 10 minutes or more.
How does the 8100 compare with other real-time systems?
Most real-time devices transmit data at a minimum of 5 or more, require hard-wiring or have limited battery life. The 8100 series is completely self-contained and portable, highly sensitive, has the capability to transmit
once per second, and was designed under the same standards that makes Land Air Sea Systems the leader in GPS asset tracking.
Can I use the 8100 as a theft recovery system? Yes! Since the 8100 has the capability of second by second transmission and geo-fence functionality, this unit is a sound choice for theft
recovery applications
