The Tracking Key is a small, pocket sized device that receives signals from the twenty-four Department of Defense satellites orbiting the earth.  The internal computer accurately determines the location of the device within 2.5 meters and records this data every second.

With this data and the included LandAirSea Tracking software, you can accurately determine where a person traveled, how fast they drove, where they stopped and for how long.  The recorded data from the Tracking Key can be displayed over a street map, satellite images or in a text report.

The Tracking Key is powered by just 2 AAA batteries and can be placed inside, outside and even underneath the vehicle.  The strong magnet mounts allows for instant mounting.  The Tracking Key is also waterproof so you do not have to worry about the elements.

Is there any set up or initialization required to make the Tracking Key work? No.  Just put the batteries in.  Put the battery cover on and place the unit on the vehicle. Where can I place the Tracking Key? The Tracking Key is water resistant which means the unit will not be damaged if it comes into contact with a little splashing or misting of water.   However, the Tracking Key cannot be subjected to direct constant splashing water.   How strong is the magnet mount? The custom Tracking Key magnet mount is very strong.  In all of our testing, we never lost a tracking key, even in off road situations.   Does the unit work anywhere in the U.S.? The Tracking Key will work anywhere in the world.   Does the Tracking Key come with every thing I need, including software? Yes.  The Tracking Key comes with everything you need, including software.    Will changing the recording frequency save on battery life? No.  It is not necessary to change the 1 second recording frequency.  The battery life will not be increased by reducing the sampling rate.   How much data will the Tracking Key store? On average, the Tracking Key will store about a month's worth of data under normal use.   Does the Tracking Key create Activity Reports Yes.  After you download the data, you can select Activity Report to get an easy to read Activity Report.   Can I power the Tracking Key with the Vehicle's power? Because of the nature of this product, we do not allow refunds on this product.  All sales are final. This product is shipped brand new.  Returns are allowed for exchange only or for repairs.   If the batteries go dead before I am able to retrieve the unit, will I lose the data? No.  The data is safely stored in the unit, even if the batteries go dead.   Does the unit come with a cable to download the data? No.  You do not need a cable to download the data.  To download the data, you simply plug the device into your USB port.   What is the warranty on the Tracking Key? The Tracking Key comes with a 1 year warranty.   Do I need to subscribe to a monthly service in order to get the Tracking Key to work? No.  There are no monthly fees or activations fees.  The Tracking Key is not a real time tracking system, it is a passive tracking system.  Make sure you know what the difference is before buying a GPS tracking device.  A "passive" device, like the Tracking Key, records data until you plug it into a computer and view the information.  A "real time" device, like the LandAirSea 8100 unit, records and transmits the data so you can see where your vehicle is at any moment.   Can I use the Tracking Key for stolen vehicle recovery?
