Truck GPS Reviews (continued)

All of these truck GPS units feature truck-specific mapping data that contain as many as 700,000 miles of truck restricted roads!  That's a lot of road data.  Bottom line is that a truck GPS will help you get to your destination, but for safety's sake, remember, you're still responsible for obeying all road signs, bridge heights and restricted areas.  A truck GPS is just another tool of the trade.  Use it to help get you where you need to go.....and above all drive safely.

Truck routing GPS units are designed to get you from dock to dock safely and efficiently.  The first thing you do when you receive your new GPS is to enter your truck's height, width and weight.  Also, enter any Hazmat conditions.   When you enter an address into the truck GPS, it will attempt to route you the shortest distance, while avoiding low bridges and restricted roads.  Some of our truck GPS units also have trucker features like mileage logging, fuel logging, timers, real time traffic (to help avoid road constructions and heavy traffic), service and maintenance alerts, etc.

GPS-planet™ carries all currently available GPS solutions for the commercial truck driver, including the Garmin Truck GPS units Rand McNally Intelliroute Truck GPS units and WorldNav Truck GPS units.

tnd 520 truck review The Rand McNally IntelliRoute® TND 730 LM, TND 720LM, TND 530 LM and TND-520LM truck GPS units have a new rugged design, upgraded and louder speaker, brighter screen, Wi-Fi® Connectivity and Weather updates – Current and forecasted weather data, including storms and wind speeds, displayed along your route (needs Wi-Fi connection).   Map updates, software updates and construction updates are easily managed through the online Rand McNally Dock software.   Also has a video input for third party back-up cameras.   The Rand McNally units have more trucker features than any other currently available truck GPS unit, which is probably why they're our top selling truck GPS.

Conclusion:   The Rand McNally truck GPS units are top notch and easy to use.   They are full of excellent trucking features specifically targeting the needs of commercial drivers, and that's on reason we rate these truck GPS units the number one choice for commercial drivers.

worldnav truck gps reviews The WordNav GPS units are self-contained GPS units that come with truck routing software installed.  The Worldnav, made by TeleType, is offered in two sizes, a 5" screen, and a 7" screen.  This unit is perfect for the driver looking for a complete package GPS made specifically for the commercial truck driver.  The units also have nice features like an MP3 player, picture and movie player built into it.  The latest units are the Worldnav 7650 and Worldnav 5300 Truck GPS units.

Conclusion: We've used these units and they worked very well for us.  We think they are a good choice for the commercial truck driver and have greatly improved since the first Worldnav units came out a few years ago.  The high definition screens are another big improvement. The manufacturer, TeleType, is constantly updating their maps.
